Successful Thoughts Bring Success

Do successful thoughts really bring in successes? What is success, really? How do thoughts change a person?

First things first: success is not the same for everybody.

Although we all knew of many individuals who were considered universal successes, each person, past or present, still has a different point of view what success is all about. These include how their own success meant to them, and how they measure these successes in each of their individual outlook.

Donald Trump might add another “feather” of success to his hat the moment another one of his high-end hotels rise up either in Las Vegas or New York.

The late Mother Teresa’s idea of success was perhaps being able to finish feeding everyone in a big leper facility in Calcutta, and had finished meeting with to a group of company heads who would like to donate to her charity.

In his heyday, Michael Jordan proved to the world his formula of success (“Practice makes perfect”) in all his games and succeeded in almost all of them.

The study and application of success and the varying degrees of its execution and details had grown into one big industry today. They are filled with scientists, psychologists, motivators, as well as charlatans, so-called new age gurus, and some plain quick-fix manipulators.

Sifting chaff from the grain, there could be some basic truths to it. We might as well look at them and do our own sifting.

At the time when fame and fortune were almost synonymous, when wealth was the first standard of success, Andrew Carnegie, commissioned a young and industrious writer Napoleon Hill to do a celebrated study. Carnegie wanted to find out how the other rich men make their fortune and what makes them tick generally.

1st premise: You are what you think you are

If you have not thought, or even imagined yourself to be like any of the people listed above in the future, then you shall all be what you are right now.

If you had thought of yourself to make just enough money to feed your children and your wife, earning enough to pay your bills and taxes – then that is what you are right now. If you have thought of not much, then you do not have much

. In short, you are the sum total of all your thoughts all your life up to this point.

In time, it was proven that success was not about the result of chance, nor of actions by others against you, nor even events of Nature that seemed to be conspiring against you.

Thoughts to action, to results

Other people may hinder you, make your progress slower, but they can NEVER stop you. The universe might have brought some natural disasters like flood and hurricanes to delay you. But unless these had killed you, they can never stop you.

The only person who can stop you is simply YOU.

At this point in your life, you are who you are and where you are because of your current thoughts. And at any time from hereon, you can change your thoughts, and hence, your life.

Changing your thoughts simply means taking control of them. We have to increase our awareness to thoughts that have dominated us without our knowing it. These thoughts will become habits and habits become automatic actions (or inactions).

Successful thoughts bring success?

One expert said: “Everything you achieve or fail to achieve in your life is the direct result of your own thoughts!”

Put another way, a man’s thinking can move one to success, or keep one where he is, or sadly drive him down into the lower depths of his mind.

Your level of success in life is in direct proportion to your ability and willingness to direct your thoughts.

Successful thoughts bring success? You can bet on it.
